BIOGRAPHY

Liz Markus paintings are influenced by the rawness of punk and grunge music and culture with which she grew up. Her process is intuitive, and her interest lies in various subjects, including dinosaurs, hippies, cavemen, socialites, witches, monsters, and fashion. She is interested in psychological repression versus liberation. Markus uses bold and colourful washes of acrylic paint, usually on unprimed canvas.
